DEAR DELEGATES, MURAHO!
On behalf of the Rwanda Airports Com- pany (RAC), it is my immense delight to welcome you to Kigali, Rwanda’s Capital, for the 69th ACI Africa Board Meeting, Regional Committees, Conference and Exhibition, from 25 February to 03 March 2023.
This conference is very special to Rwanda in every sense of the word; this will be the first time that Rwanda gets to host this event – an ideal platform for airports and other aviation stakeholders to network, share information and forge a common future for the airport industry in Africa. Amid new and emerging challenges including cyber threats, this feels like the perfect time for the airports stakeholders to come together and agree on the best requirements which best places Africa at the centre of the fourth industrial revolu- tion, embrace opportunities and tackle challenges at stake.
We have waited for so long to meet you; COVID-19 pandemic has kept us at bay but thankfully it is behind us now. This is yet another opportunity to look into the future with optimism and prepare together for any possible threat that could emerge along the way.
There’s a lot planned for you on the mar- gins of the 69th ACI Africa Board Mee- ting, Regional Committees, Conference and Exhibition; it is our utmost desire that during our time together in Kigali
we get to introduce you to some of Rwan- da’s home-grown concepts that have shaped the country’s socio-economic fabric over the past 29 years. We hope that you will take pride in participating in the programs like Monthly Community work “Umuganda” where communities come together to achieve a common outco- me and Car-Free Day where masses take on the streets of Kigali for sports and exercise (This happens every first and third week of every month. Do not forget your sportswear).
Once again, I look forward to welcoming you all to Kigali. I have no doubt that you will enjoy our unique Rwandan hospitality. Let us learn and relearn new techniques on how to improve airpo- rts operations, and share knowledge and experience on how we can collectively meet the needs of passengers across African airports.
See you in Rwanda, a country of 1000 hills,
Murakaza Neza; Soyez les bienvenus, Karibuni sana!
